As a new year begins, many of us think about goals and resolutions. But Scripture calls us to something deeper than just a checklist — it calls us to seek God, walk in faith, and set intentions that reflect His heart. These verses invite us to make plans with God, not just for ourselves, and to trust Him with every step.
1. Seeking God First
Proverbs 3:5–6 - “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Psalm 37:5 - “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act.”
Matthew 6:33 - “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Philippians 4:8 - “Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable—think about such things.”
Healthy goals begin with a renewed perspective shaped by God.
6. Heart Alignment Over Checklists
Matthew 22:37–38 - “Love the Lord your God with all your heart… This is the first and greatest commandment.”
Micah 6:8 - “To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 - “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Goals are richest when they reflect a heart aligned with God’s heart.

Philippians 4:6–7 - “Do not be anxious about anything… and the peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
